Pop art pioneer Sir Peter Blake is in the inspiration behind a series of free primary school workshops exploring the art of collage on offer at The Harley Gallery.
Staged to coincide with an exhibition of Sir Peter Blake’s World Series of original collages inspired by journeys real and imagined, the workshops will focus on aesthetic awareness in relation to colour, texture, pattern, shape and structure and explore what a collage is. Children will experiment with different surfaces and create their own Peter Blake inspired collage, which can be taken home.
Suitable for Key Stage 1 and 2 children, the free workshops will take place on 10th, 11th, 12th, 17th, 18th and 19th May 2016 from 10am-2pm.
Education & Engagement Manager, Dayle Green, said:
“Our primary education workshops are an exciting opportunity for children to delve into the world of art and develop their own tastes and judgements, inspired by influential artist Sir Peter Blake.
“These workshops are completely free of charge and with limited places available we’re encouraging schools to sign up before spaces fill up.”

His work will be displayed at The Harley Gallery as part of The Grand Tour Season Two from 20th March to 5th June.
