Bringing an extra splash of glam, Aunty Ginger joins the talented line up of pop, soul, jazz and musical theatre vocalists performing a songbook of all the classics from Shirley Bassey to Beyoncé to celebrate International Women’s Day.

Aunty Ginger said: “I believe everyone wants to be a Diva! Don’t you wish sometimes you could be you without inhibitions, without anxiety and to just be 100% confident, not sweating the haters! This is what a Diva is to me!

“When the wig goes on and the mic is in my hand, it’s a release. It’s not a different person, it’s me without limits or rules. It’s amazing for my mental health and I adore making people laugh. If I inspire anyone along the way then that’s a bonus, but it’s what it does for me that counts!”

The one-off special show – which is raising money for the Nottingham Women’s Centre – brings together singers backed by the breathtakingly big sound from the 50-piece Limelight Orchestra.

The show will deliver five decades of classic hits from Get This Party Started, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, I’m Every Woman, Lady Marmalade, I Am What I Am, Run The World and Crazy In Love.

Also joining the line up are two upcoming female singers from Nottingham, Betsey Bircumshaw, a 17 year old with big powerhouse vocals and singer-producer Emily Makis, who are both with the First Light development label founded by Nottingham’s own music royalty Nina Smith.

Nina is hosting the night. “This is going to be a great show. We’ve got so much to pack in, trying to nail down the playlist has been so hard! I can’t wait as well as for what is sure to be a memorable cameo from Aunty Ginger!”

Nottingham Girls’ High School Choir will be performing as the chorus on the evening and Women’s Voices, the Workers’ Educational Association funded choir, are set to perform on their biggest stage ever since they formed last year.

The concert will be raising money for the Nottingham Women’s Centre, which has been working for more than 40 years to help women gain the confidence and skills to achieve their full potential.

Tickets are available to purchase online from the Royal Concert Hall.  Prices range from £19.50 to £29.50. Click here https://trch.co.uk/whats-on/diva/
