Little Wolf Parade have excelled in putting on some of the most unusual and interesting performance art events in Nottingham over the last couple of years, from the inaugural Little Wolf Parade event to mark the launch of The Corner in 2012 to last years excellent selection of events at The Great Notts Show.

This weekend they’re bringing to extremely exciting looking shows that look well worth checking out.

Friday night will see the unique setting of Twenty Eight Barbers hosting the premier of artist Jamie Lewis Hadley’s touring performance/lecture Blood on the Streets before it heads off to other UK cities.

Blood on the Streets takes a look at the history of bloodletting, a practice derived in the middle ages in order to heal and performed by a new kind of medical-practitioner – the barber-surgeon.

For one day only Hadley, along with Dr Belinda Fenty, will explore the history of bloodletting, including the key figures, instruments and techniques used, through a combination of live text, projected images and re-enactment.

As if that wasn’t enough the Little Wolf Parade team will also be taking over the wonderful Vintage Warehouse on Saturday to bring you a night of exciting and unusual performance art featuring a host of artists.

Offering up a night of experimental performance art and featuring performers of all levels, from international artists, to students and recent graduates – plus sensational illustrations from Nottingham musician Aja Ireland – this promises to be a unique and fascinating show – what’s more the first 100 attendees will receive a free wolf mask (there will also be limited edition items on sale at the event).

The current line up for the event features:

Collective Unconsious, Natalie Raven, Lewys Joy Bannon Holt, Joanna Cifre Cerda, David Clarkson, Maud Lanner, Rosie B, Sally Anne Roberts, Priya Mistry, Robert Hardaker, Rachel Parry, Eshan Gill, Jade Williams and Sarah Todino.

There will also be live music from Nottingham art-rockers The Scriptures and some vinyl spinning from top DJ duo Stiff Kittens.

Tickets are available for £5 on the door – or in advance here

We have to say these both look like great and extremely interesting events and well worth checking out – though be warned they’re probably not for the more sensitive of folks.
