What is it?
It is the annual fashion event organised by It’s in Nottingham, to celebrate the diverse mix of retailers around the city. There will be regular catwalk shows for shoppers to attend, showcasing the latest items and collections from Nottingham shops.
When is it?
This year’s event is taking place on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 March.
Where is it?
The free catwalk shows will be taking place in the Art Deco Ballroom, in the Council House overlooking the Old Market Square. There will also be pop-up activities on the city centre square, including a parked-up Fashion Bus and branded beauty area.
What’s happening?
Guests are invited to pop along to a free catwalk show for SS/17 fashion and style inspiration on Friday 24 March from 1pm to 5.30pm, and Saturday 25 March from 12 noon to 5.30pm.
All of the items shown on the catwalk can be bought straight away from Nottingham shops – people can simply visit the dedicated Fashion Bus in the Old Market Square or head to our website for our online outfit gallery. There will also be free mini beauty treatments from Nottingham salon Beauty Temple, Urban Decay, Kiko and Aveda, as well as a selection of make-up brands at Debenhams, John Lewis and House of Fraser. These will be taking place upstairs on the bus.
Who is taking part?
A range of Nottingham retailers are jumping on board, including well-known high street brands, department stores and quirky independents. Confirmed brands for this year’s Nottingham in Fashion include John Lewis, New Look, Radley, Primark, Ted Baker, French Connection, Burton Menswear, Joules, Cow Vintage, Gigi Bottega in Flying Horse Walk, Debenhams, Marks & Spencer, River Island and House of Fraser.
Who is invited?
Shoppers of all styles and ages are invited to come along. This year’s event includes three differently themed shows to appeal to all of Nottingham’s shoppers.
The first show is titled From Campus to Club and will showcase the key looks and SS/17 trends ideal for a student lifestyle and budget. It will highlight the best of casual styles perfect for walking around campus, as well as glamorous looks for nights out in the city.
The second show, From Desk to Dinner, will display versatile outfits that can be dressed up or down – mixing workwear with statement accessories.
Lastly, Style Classics is for the high end fashion lovers with a focus on investment pieces. The show will incorporate the latest spring trends with classic looks.
How much?All of the catwalk shows are FREE to attend. Those interested in attending a show can simply turn up 15 minutes before the start of a show at the Council House.
