Five Star Rating for Bingham Crêperie

What could be better than an independent family-run restaurant specialising in traditional and modern sweet Crêpes and savoury Galettes?

Well, the fact that the restaurant has just been awarded Top Marks for its first assessment for Food Hygiene Standards for a start. Located in a characterful, beamed, former Coaching Inn on Long Acre in Bingham.  “La Coquette”, Crêperie and Waffle kitchen, is one of Bingham’s newest eateries.

The restaurant opened earlier this year and serves a range of French Crepes and Galettes, made using the traditional recipes and methods of Brittany, France, alongside classics such as American pancakes with bacon and maple syrup plus a range of delicious freshly-made omelettes and waffles with a range of toppings as well as ice cream sundaes. The restaurant is also fully licensed and sells a unique range of Breton Ciders, Beers and wines.

Laura Rich, Manager at La Coquette (pictured) said “We are absolutely delighted with our 5 Star Rating, we place great emphasis on the importance of food safety and hygiene and we understand how important it is for customers to be able to check food ratings and to have confidence in the processes restaurants have in place”
All the restaurants sweet and delicate Crêpes and Belgian-style Waffles (made with wheat flour) can be served with cream or Vanilla Ice-Cream, or a variety of other toppings such as caramel, Nutella and Maple Syrup and are also available to Take Away.
Savoury Galettes, made with gluten-free Buckweat Flour are available with a variety of fillings including Emmental and Chedder Cheese, Streaky Bacon, Mozzarella, Tomatoes, mushrooms and Salmon.

Crispy Pancetta, with a cracked Duck Egg, on a bed of wilted spinach, served on a savoury Galette, with our House Grain Mustard
Savoury Galette, with Home-made Ratatouille, with sour cream, chives, salad leaves and a garlic dressing
American Blueberry Pancake Stack with Blueberry Jam or Maple Syrup
Savoury Galette with local Stilton, smoked streaky bacon, salad leaves and a garlic and mustard dressing
Savoury Galette with Colwick Cheese, sweet onion relish, toasted pine nuts and mild salad leaves
