Nottingham restaurant Alchemilla only opened its doors on 1st August, but already it is looking to expand its front of house and kitchen teams, due to the phenomenal interest and support shown by local diners. The restaurant serves modern British food with a focus on fresh seasonal produce, particularly vegetables. Alex Bond is the talented chef and owner behind Alchemilla who has refined his craft working at some of the country’s best Michelin starred restaurants.
In the kitchen Alex is looking for an experienced chef de partie with at least two years’ experience working at that level. He is also recruiting an apprentice chef, as he explains: “We are looking for someone who is passionate about food and flavours, you don’t necessarily need the skills, as that can all be learnt on the job, but what you do need is a real love of ingredients, fresh produce and cooking.
“Often when we think of apprentices we think of school leavers, but that doesn’t have to be the case here. Perhaps someone is looking for a career change, or they have always loved food and cooking but have never dared take the plunge. This could be an amazing opportunity for someone to learn the trade in the city’s newest and most creative kitchen. All that we ask is that they are willing to roll your sleeves up and learn.”
Alchemilla is also recruiting for two enthusiastic and attentive front of house staff, who come with a real passion to be part of a team that is striving to become the best restaurant in the UK. Some of the benefits of working at Alchemilla include a 4.5 day working week, with delicious team meals thrown in for good measure. A competitive salary and benefits package is offered, plus a real emphasis on training and progression to help advance and further every staff member’s career. As restaurant manager Tom Shaw explained: “In time we will need a larger management team, so there is real opportunity here for someone who is already in a front of house position but is keen to progress.
“As a business, we are all about progression and we will give someone who is willing to learn all the tools and knowledge to succeed. We are looking to create one of the best restaurants in the UK but that can’t be done without a creative and passionate team of people.”
