A new dog friendly real ale pub will opens its doors in Hockley
Real Ale pub The Hockley Rebel opens its doors on Friday at 9 Broad Street in the Hockley area of Nottingham following a £90,000 investment from the owners.
Nottingham-based commercial property agent, Box Property, sold the lease to the independent real ale operator on behalf of the previous tenant.
The Hockley Rebel will bring a traditional and dog-friendly pub to Broad Street, providing real ales and ciders from local and Welsh breweries, quality ‘pub grub’ and traditional pub games such as darts and billiards.
The pub, which is part of the Ales from Wales company, is the first of its kind to open in the UK and will be open 12pm– 11pm Sunday to Monday and 12pm – 12am Friday and Saturday.
Upstairs is Club Tiki; a late-night bar where customers can enjoy live music and DJs, open 10pm – 2am, which is also available for private hire.
Owner Dave Hawyes who originates from Swansea but has been Nottingham based for the last two years, said: “We are a real pub offering a traditional but carefully considered experience for our customers.
“The Hockley Rebel will be a place of calm in the middle of the busy city where customers can expect real ales and cider and simple, wholesome pub food.
“We welcome two legs and four legs and want people to feel welcome and relaxed in our brilliant new pub which we are really excited about.
“Our team are really knowledgeable about our food and drink offering and whether customers are looking for advice on what ale to try or just want to have a quiet pint with the darts board, the Hockley Rebel is the place to be.
“We have had a fantastic response to our opening in Nottingham already and myself and the team look forward to meeting our soon-to-be regulars.”
Box Property, who represented the previous tenant, El Capo, are one of the leading retail and leisure agents in the region – particularly in the Hockley and Lace Market areas of Nottingham, and work with emerging and established brands.
