NOTTINGHAM city centre department store BHS has received more than a quarter of a million pound investment to create a brand new food outlet within its intu Broadmarsh store.
The popular retailer, which has been located at the shopping centre for nearly 40 years, opened the new food store this month following a £285k investment.
Following an initial three store trial, BHS has opened a number of food stores within its department stores across the county and hopes to open between 50 and 60 in 2016. The store has planning consent for 140 food shops within its existing 171 store estate.
Adam Tamsett, general manager at intu Broadmarsh, said this is an exciting expansion of BHS’s offer within the centre.
He said: “The addition of a food outlet within BHS is something completely new for intu Broadmarsh and something we are very excited about arriving here.
The BHS Food Store is now open to the public and stocks a range of well-known brands and promotions on everything from ready meals to wine.
Jo Carrotte, store manager at BHS, said: “I think the new food store is going to be a really welcome addition to the centre. There’s nothing like this at intu Broadmarsh at the moment, and I’m sure that it will help to draw people into the store and centre.”
The new food store is accessible both via the BHS main entrance on Lister Gate Square and Collin Street.
