Nottingham property consultants Bruton Knowles have completed a lease for a brand new, high-end bar and restaurant in the middle of the city’s historic Lace Market area.
The Loom will be situated in what is currently the High Pavement Business Centre, formerly Nottingham’s Museum of Lace – with a 15 year lease which was agreed by Bruton Knowles associate, Sam Spencer for Vesper TPG Limited, a company owned by entrepreneurs Poseidon Kumar, Pradip Kumar and Rachel Kumar, who are the joint directors.
The building is steeped in history and even has a 19th century jacquard loom still intact in the basement, which will be a focal point of the bar’s interior.
The bar will double up as an entertainment venue with live shows taking place on a purpose-built stage, so customers can listen to music or watch a show while they dine.
Sam said he was delighted to have worked on the deal to secure an historic venue for such an exciting new venture in the city: “I’m thrilled that we have agreed a 15 year lease for Mr Kumar for The Loom. It really is something new and different for Nottingham – no one else is doing this ‘cocktails-show-and-dinner’ offering in Nottingham at the moment.
“And the history of the building will really add to the bar’s appeal. The authentic loom in the basement and its location in the heart of the Lace Market make the bar stand out for the competition.
Offering a contemporary British menu with Mediterranean fusion and Asian inspiration, the Loom is set to create 17 full-time and part-time jobs.
