Steak has proven to be the meal of choice when it comes to eating out on Mother’s Day, say chefs at Le Bistrot Pierre in Milton Street.
2015 was the year for the pavé de steak at the French independent restaurant group which found that the 7oz rump steak with black pepper butter was by far a best seller across its 14 UK-wide bistrots.
“We have a dedicated set Mother’s Day menu, ‘Menu Maman’, for those looking to treat their Mother this Sunday 6 March,” said John Whitehead, co-owner of Bistrot Pierre.
“Menu Maman was developed after feedback from last year’s diners called for a selection of rich, meaty meals to please the whole family. Slow-cooked pork with Morteau sausage and crushed cracking, as well as Scottish beef with red wine will feature and we expect them both to be extremely popular.
“The bistrot will also be offering lighter options including our extremely popular grilled halloumi salad, roasted sea bass and chicken forestier. We’ve found that Mother’s Day is one of our busiest days of the year with Menu Maman, being served from 12pm to 6.45pm, drawing in Grandmothers, Mothers and children looking to celebrate with family.
“Our Menu Enfant, new for this year’s Mother’s Day, means that children will be occupied with 14 pages of French themed activities and puzzles during and after their meals, so everyone can enjoy a relaxed lunch with their family. We offer gift vouchers too so if you’re unable to join us on the day then you can enjoy the visit to our bistrot at another time. We’re open seven days a week and offer a range of menus with a huge selection of authentic French dishes,” continued John.
The three-course menu is competitively priced at £19.50 and will give diners a taste of France without having to leave Nottingham.
“Our dishes are inspired by regular trips to France, bringing back tastes of the continent and giving customers something a bit special. Mothers deserve to be treated and we believe that you shouldn’t have to high prices in order to show Mothers that they’re appreciated,” added John.
