A well-known pub in Plumtree has proved to be hugely popular among potential buyers since being placed on the market by leading property consultants Bruton Knowles.
The Griffin Inn on Main Road in Plumtree received more than 30 enquiries in a month from parties interested in rejuvenating the once popular public house.
Bruton Knowles moved swiftly, securing the sale for Green King to a local property investor, who has split the title and resold the pub to a locally based leisure and hotel operator.
The highly-sought after public house includes a function room, private dining room, an office and private living accommodation, while the outside has car parking and an enclosed beer garden.
As part of the first sale, the new owner purchased an attached plot of development land to the rear of the car park which has outline planning permission from Rushcliffe Borough Council. The new owner intends to develop two new luxury detached houses on the site, which will come to the market in 2017.
Associate at Bruton Knowles’ Nottingham office, Sam Spencer, managed both sales.
He said: “Bruton Knowles is delighted to announce the double sale of The Griffin Inn, helping to bring back to life a well-loved and popular public house to Plumtree.
“Just off the A606 and in easy reach of Edwalton and West Bridgford, the pub was for many years the thriving social heart of Plumtree. With excellent trading potential, The Griffin offers an attractive venture for the new owner.
“There is currently limited choice in the area for locals, so the sale allows for a much needed addition to the local community. The re-opening of this handsome pub will also see the creation of more than 20 new jobs in the area.”
The new owners of the pub intend to undertake an extensive refurbishment of the premises to include an extension to the kitchen and the creation of an orangery to the rear of the property, with plans to re-open the facility in the late spring or early summer 2017.
