VIP’s from Nottingham flocked to get a taste of hotly anticipated new indoor street food market at intu Victoria Centre last night, a day ahead of the official opening today.
Guests were treated to some of the best street food the city has to offer with Pizza from Suede, Gai Yang Chicken Taco and Jerk Veggie Taco; Caribbean ‘soul food’ with a twist from Chef Jugz, Vegan Fallafal and Meze from Numinums and, which seemed to be the most popular of the evening, Asian food from Masterchef finalist Pete Hewitt’s business Homeboys. The delicious samples were washed down with free beer and Prosecco for lucky invitees.
Guests had to queue for the tasters as busy traders worked hard to keep up with demand. Prosecco had run out by 8.15pm.
Following the success of this weekends sell-out, tickets are already available for the next market on 5-7th May, which are again being snapped up by hungry Notts diners even before traders have been announced. The market will take place every weekend for the next 12 months and will be open from 12 noon until 11pm, with a rotating roster of local independent traders. Payment is by card only and £10 will get each diner a meal and a drink.
