Food: Ockbrook School Get a Taste of Success at Young Enterprise Area Finals

Students at one of Derbyshire’s leading co-educational independent schools left judges at the South Derbyshire Young Enterprise Area Finals hungry for more with their collection of locally sourced confectionery treats.

Fruition, Ockbrook School’s 18 strong Young Enterprise team, was crowned runners up, as well as walking away with the Best Teamwork Award at the event hosted by the University of Derby. The team now goes forward to the Derbyshire County Final in Chesterfield on 26th April.

Made up of students aged 16 to 18 years old, Fruition’s range of innovative products feature a fun and fruity twist, including cranberry clementine flavoured fudge and personalised mason jars for a perfect fruity smoothie.

Francesca Muir-Harris, 17, joint managing director of Fruition, said: “We’re over the moon to make it to the next round of Young Enterprise. Our current success has so far been aided by an extremely supportive school and teachers, and it helps that we are a hardworking group of enthusiastic young people. The whole Young Enterprise experience is extremely fun and we’re also learning valuable skills for the future.”

Tom Brooksby, Headmaster at Ockbrook School, added: “Congratulations to Fruition, their determination and hard work has earned them a well-deserved place in the Derbyshire County Finals of Young Enterprise. They are going from strength to strength and it’s clear that their excellent range of fruity inspired products, along with infectious selling ability, is leaving customers hungry for more.”
