If there could possibly be anything better than a long bank holiday weekend then its a bank holiday weekend with a fabulous food and drink festival, so the great news is that this time next weekend Nottingham Castle will be welcoming its first ever food event at the iconic venue.
Over 100 exhibitors will be on site offering their finest hot and cold produce, including Street Dawg Co, Too Good to be Gluten Free, SpeeDough Pizza, Nachos Amigos, Mister Street Food, local award winning restaurant Memsaab, Chilli Pepper Events Ltd, Duck Fat Roasties, Simply Cakes, bit spicy, Lottie’s Ice Creams, Christine’s Preserves, I love Ostrich and Brocklebys Pies. Our tip is to look out for the Nottingham’s ‘The Cheese Shop’ selling cheeses sourced locally from Colston Bassett and also Hartland Pies from Cotgrave.
No need for the kids or the pampered pooch to be left out. There will be face painting and pizza making for the kids and, whilst sadly our four legged babies aren’t allowed at the festival, you can make it up to them with a visit to Mrs Bishops Doggy Deli. Mrs Bishop uses local ingredients whereever possible, sourcing her flour from Greens Mill Windmill especially for the discerning pooch.
If you fancy a break from shopping then why not stop off at The Walton Hotel stand whose bar will be offering champagne and Pimms refreshments. There will also be a range of licensed bars and real ale tents.
A host of celebrity chefs will also be on hand with daily cooking demonstrations. From Sunday Brunch, Simon Rimmer is headlining the festival on Saturday but our tip is look out for local favourites including recent Masterchef finalist Pete Hewitt cooking up a storm with his first live cookery demos, mouth watering bakes from local Great British Bake Off contestant Jordan Cox, prize winning local butcher Johnny Pusztai from J.T Beedham’s butchers and local private dining chef Craig Floate.
We can’t guarantee the bank holiday weather but we can guarantee a fabulous time, so If you haven’t got your ticket yet then what are you waiting for? Click on the link below to get yours now!
