An authentic American dining experience has come to Nottingham thanks to Red Dog Saloon which celebrated its official launch last week.
The team welcomed more than 400 people to the new restaurant in Hockley to mark the occasion with an evening of food from the Bar-B-Q menu, live music from TipiTina and a selection of cocktails and drinks.
Thousands of chicken wings, hundreds of mini burgers and racks of ribs were served to VIP guests, including comedy actress Cleo Rocos.
After selecting Nottingham as the ideal location to open its fourth eatery, and the first outside of London, the family-run business has already been attracting customers looking to try its mouth-watering dishes before the saloon opened.
Well known for its ‘Devastator Challenge’: a 18oz minced chuck steak burger served with 200g of pulled pork, Applewood smoked bacon rashers and cheese served with fries and a milkshake, Red Dog Saloon brings something unique to Nottingham’s thriving food and drink scene.
Cleo Rocos said: “The cocktails and the music has been sensational and everyone I’ve met here tonight has been energised with happiness. I’m certain the restaurant will do really well.”
Tom Brooke, owner for Red Dog Saloon said: “I’m confident that we will grow a loyal following in the city, just as we have in London. We source the very best sustainable meat and cook it ‘low ‘n slow’ over smoked hickory wood for 18 hours that preserves the flavour of the meat.
“We’ve imported the wood and smokers from America and use recipes from the south to create a truly authentic flavour; we’re passionate about the food we serve and look forward to welcoming the people from the city to our new restaurant.”
The new restaurant has created 50 new jobs for the city and is located at 20 – 22 Victoria Street.
