Situated on Market Street, a stone’s throw away from Nottingham’s Theatre Royal, is Singh’s restaurant. I’d been here a few times before, and have always been struck by the hospitality of the staff, who strive to bring a true sense of India’s culture to your dining experience.
Launched in 2012 by owner and co- founder Mr Singh, who has over 15 years experience in the culinary industry. Their distinctive menu has always offered fine Indian cuisine and classic curry dishes embracing tradition and improving upon it with a contemporary twist.
Since opening, the restaurant has gained a reputation for it’s charming atmosphere and distinctive menu but Wednesday 23 November saw VIP guests including NottinghamLIVE , invited by the family to an exclusive event showcasing the best of India in the heart of Nottingham. On arrival guests were treated to a complimentary glass of fizz to begin an evening of stunning food, live Indian music and traditional dancing.
We were able to sample and learn about the dishes created to mark Singh’s refurbishment and the launch of a stunning new menu. A vivid décor and a vintage-pattern wallpaper provides the perfect backdrop. A slick, curvy reception and bar area adds a stylish touch to the venue. A central water feature lit by candles adds ambience. Authentic artwork of India’s rich culture adorns the walls, amidst luxurious bespoke architectural structural design and opulent lighting, set out to ensure you dine the maharajah way.
Singh’s Cocktail Bar offers a innovative menu of cocktails including the premium Chestnut Spice, chestnut infused liqueur with garam masala. Weavers have hand-picked the perfect pairings of wine to compliment their menu also, allowing guests to indulge in a true fine dining experience, amidst luxurious bespoke architectural structural design and opulent lighting, set out
Singh’s is one of the better Indian restaurants in town and perfectly placed for maybe a pre or post theatre visit, also the ability to see the chefs at work in the open kitchen is a interesting added element not to be missed.
