Jasmin Barlow -Wilkinson is a lucky lady. Not only is she the creator of the hugely successful Homemade Cafes, but after a successful first year trading, she also managed to celebrate Homemade Cafe at the Pavilions new summer menu on one of the warmest evenings of the year.
The spacious sun terrace on the Forest Recreation Ground looked gorgeous and the atmosphere was great, as NottinghamLive, along with other specially invited guests, were invited to try an exclusive mouth watering selection from the award-winning bistros brand new seasonal menu on Thursday 4th March. The event was prior to the venue opening its doors for the first time in the evenings, Thursday-Saturday, June through to August, until 10pm, making the most of the long summer nights.
The menu will change every two weeks to make the most of the seasonal produce, Homemade at the Pavilion is committed to sourcing local produce where possible, and in the future plans to have some of the ingredients for the menu coming from the shared community garden and its own herb patch, also situated on the Forest Recreation Ground. The current menu will feature continental and Latin inspired dishes such as Homemade Enchiladas, Spanish Fish Stew, Traditional Moules Frites, Homemade Risotto, Quesadillas, Homemade Pulled Pork topped Burger, Homemade Chicken and Broccoli Pasta and many more, plus plenty of colourful summer salads, alongside some Homemade firm favourites.
Here’s a tempting taster of the dishes we tried:
As well as the yummy supper menu there are also plenty of sweet treats and snacks to choose from such Eton Mess, Homemade Cheesecake, Belgian Waffle and Ice cream and of course they couldn’t miss out the legendary Homemade Brownie, served especially for the summer in its own Sundae.
We were treated to a glass of fizz on arrival but also complementing the supper menu, will be a selection of craft & continental beers, organic ciders, carefully matched wines and summer favourites such as gin & elderflower and iced coffees.
The Pavilion will host live local acoustic artists to look forward to over the summer evenings on selected nights to create a laid back casual dining atmosphere, helping to showcase the best Nottingham talent and giving people a platform to perform.
The evening was a double celebration for Jasmin as it also marked the tenth anniversary of Homemade.
If Thursday evening was anything to go by then terrace promises to be a sun trap during the coming months. To make a booking, call the Pavilion team on 0115 9781608 or for more information visit www.homemadecafe.com or follow the team on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook.
