Inspired by Dragons Den, The Beeston Brownie Company was born.
Having been dissatisfied with his job for many years, Vic Roberts had always been on the lookout for an idea to start his own business. Watching TV one night, the penny dropped.
A couple on the hit program wanted an investment for their Brownie business, having had great feedback from relatives and friends, this gave the entrepreneur from Beeston, Nottingham the incentive to start up a gourmet chocolate Brownie business.
April 2016 saw the companies first market stall in Trinity Square, Nottingham as Vic began the business on a part-time basis whilst still working full-time.
Crucially the feedback was great, and inspired Vic to book more markets. A website followed, built to sell the brownies online and keep Brownie lovers informed of where the business will be attending next.
Business boomed from there. A stall at The Ilkeston food festival led to an enquiry from a Tea Room, Two for Tea in Stapleford, as to whether the brownies were available wholesale, and from that moment, they were, with the business now supplying to many Nottingham eateries including Cafe Roya, The Ugly Bread Bakery, Toast and Made in Nottingham to name a few.
September 2016 saw Vic leave the full-time job to concentrate on the successful Brownie Business full-time.
We were kindly given eight of the companies original Brownies to try.
The texture of the brownies is soft and on the right side of gooey. Edible without getting too messy, but still very moist beneath the drier exterior you expect from a well made Brownie. All the flavours had the same rich luxurious chocolate taste with subtle flavouring. Others that sampled the Brownies were in agreement. They are delicious. All of the gourmet chocolate brownies are hand-made, fresh to order. They use only the best ingredients, including 70% Belgian chocolate and free range eggs to ensure a truly irresistible taste
One of my personal favourites was the Almond Brownie, mainly because it had a taste of reminiscent of Marzipan, which I love.
We also tried the Salted caramel, which had a lovely crisp flaky caramel top and just the right amount of bitter saltiness. The delicious Oreo Brownies had tasty pieces of the rich crumbly biscuit throughout. The Chocolate orange brownie has a similar taste to the chocolate bar, with the gooeyness of a Brownie. A lovely subtle orange flavour runs through it. The Raspberry and White Choc Chip Brownie too is a delicious sweet treat with the slightly tart raspberry perfectly complimenting the sweetness of the chocolate. The Triple chocolate Brownie was a lovely rich Brownie with triple the luxurious chocolate flavour, Finally the Peanut Butter Brownie had just the right amount of salty crunch. Definitely products that I will be buying again.
All of the brownies are hand wrapped and boxed by the specialist bakers and are available in boxes of 8 or 16 pieces
If you have a large order, are after something a little different or haven’t found the flavour you are looking for then get in touch with the team and they will be happy to help.
