Bank Holiday Saturday 24 August 2024
The holy trinity of music, beer and street food is back for the 4th Arboretum Beer Festival, Nottingham on Saturday 24 August.
Tunes will be floating from the historic Victorian bandstand throughout the day from Fakermaker; The In-Here Brothers; The Outriders; Dorothy Ella; D.I.S.C.O and the Hot Plants DJs.
Now a popular fixture on the city calendar, the all-day event kicks off at midday at the Arboretum Garden Bar and Bandstand, with every ticketholder receiving a commemorative Arboretum Beer Festival cup.
Beer will be flowing from the many wonderful local breweries including Nottingham’s very own award winning Castle Rock, freshly crowned as National Pub Group of the Year, along with some tasty additions from further afield. The latest trio to join the brewery line up are Birmingham based Attic, the SALT crew from Yorkshire and Tiny Rebel from Newport.
Bang The Elephant, Black Iris, Castle Rock, Liquid Light and Magpie fly the flag for the local independents with Estaminet, Full Circle, La Trappe, Palm, Rodenbach, Round Corner and Siren completing the selection.
There will be lots of tasty food and beer pairing opportunities with the street food offer curated by Bustler Market featuring Bubble Waffles, Chilli Kitchen, Homeboys, Kebab Cartel, New Yorkshire Pizza Co, plus every meat lovers fantasy Porco and Caribbean bakehouse Yello Yard.
Patrick Somers, DHP Family, said: “It’s time to bring you the music line-up for this year’s festival which includes some old favourites and lots of bandstand debuts! From indie to pop, rock’n’roll to disco, we’ve got you covered with the perfect acts to soundtrack your beers.
“With even more additions to the beer line up and the scrummy food offer curated by Bustler, we’ve got all the right ingredients for a most excellent summer day out right here on your doorstep.”
With their years of experience of playing live shows on the big stage, Fakermaker immerse the crowd in the sights, sounds and supersonic experience that made Oasis the force that propelled them to mega stardom in the 90s.
Hailing from a living room in Derby and only armed with two guitars, a loop pedal and awesome beards, The In-Here Brothers rip up the dance music rule book to bring their 90s dance, trance and pop covers in a high energy show with two 15 song medleys and throw it on to the dancefloor.
The Outriders deliver high-energy performances and reinterpret their favourite songs across genres and eras. Their sets feature thunderous bass, sharp lead guitar, and captivating vocals, creating a thrilling and fun-packed experience. With their irresistible take on history’s jukebox, the Outriders offer an explosive and extraordinary musical journey.
Dorothy Ella delivers powerful female vocals blending her soulful lyrics with a funky disco twist. Influenced by Aretha Franklin, Jade Bird and Ella Fitzgerald, she promotes self-worth through her upbeat tunes. Her infectious energy and band create vibrant live shows that leave everyone dancing and smiling.
Bluesy goodness and rhythmic riffs from D.I.S.C.O and tunes from the Hot Plants DJs vinyl selection of Soul, Reggae, Alternative, Disco and Classy Pop will take revellers through into the summer evening.
