For those that don’t know a huge event will be taking over the Market Square at the end of this month. The Great Notts Show, after holding its launch event amid the tram work chaos of Highfields last year this years event will instead take place smack bang in the middle of town, the perfect place to showcase the great Nottingham business community.
The weekend will see a host of great stalls, exhibitions and demonstrations from cookery to art and no event celebrating Nottingham would be complete without a selection of great Nottingham music – and who better to ask to organise such a thing than I’m Not From London.
As you can probably guess the INFL team have put together a great line up across the three days.
On Friday the music kicks off at 1pm with a set from excellent young singer JOSH WHEATLEY, followed by bluesy folk from RYAN THOMAS. ALICE MCCLEOD will have you spellbound from 4pm before ROYSTON DUXFORDS blend of country rock n roll gets you all stomping along. Finally acoustic five piece THE IDOLINS round things up at 6pm.
You’ll wan’t to make sure you get down Saturday to catch the excellent JOSH KEMP start the ball rolling at 1pm before the wonderful GEORGIE ROSE. The totally unique HALLOUMINATI will take to the stage at 3 with their mash up of gypsy/ska/punk/greek/ragga/jazz that is not to be missed followed by the excellent singer-songwriter TOM WARDLE and gypsy pop-rockers BIG RHINO. To wrap things up on Saturday their be stunning pirate action and sea shanties from the one and only SEAS OF MIRTH.
The music kicks off a bit earlier in the day on Sunday with JAMIE MOON taking to the stage at 11am followed by CEDRIC PETERS at noon. There’s fabulous acoustic pop from ALEXA HAWKSWORTH at 1pm followed by BEN HIBBERT before the QM CHOIR wrap things up at 3pm.
All in all there is some fantastic Nottingham music taking place across the three days, as well as much much more including an art exhibition from INFL’s art arm LITTLE WOLF PARADE based on the ideas of ‘HOME’ more on that to follow.
