Nottingham’s Christmas Market is back, bigger and better than ever before! Organised and curated by It’s in Nottingham – the city’s business improvement district, this year’s market will be held on Saturday 30 November and Sunday 1 December at Nottingham Castle.
With more vendors, entertainment, and festive activities than last year, this expanded event promises an unforgettable start to the festive season for Nottingham locals and visitors alike.
Set against the breathtaking views and historic ambiance of Nottingham Castle, the market will feature an expanded selection of stalls, showcasing handcrafted gifts, unique decorations and homeware, and a wide array of seasonal food and drink from local artisans. Visitors can enjoy festive performances, Christmas carols, and family-friendly entertainment.
“We’re delighted to bring another standout event to the heart of Nottingham, enhancing the city’s Christmas offering and providing an affordable, family-friendly day out that everyone can enjoy,” said Alex Flint, CEO of It’s in Nottingham. “Our goal is to create an inclusive festive celebration where all are welcome. By showcasing local talent and small businesses, we hope to make this Christmas Market a destination for the whole community and a highlight of the city’s festive season.”
With over 70 independent stallholders, visitors can expect to see freshly baked goods, sweet treats, cheeses, gins and liqueurs, arts, crafts, vintage, and handmade jewellery available from local retailers over the two days.
Some of the popular businesses taking part include Cropwell Bishop Creamery, Caythorpe Candles, Ditsy Pets, Dukki Gifts, Gees and Gee’s, Hanwell Wine, Mr Pitchforks Pickles, Ruddy Fine Gin, The Beeston Brownie Company, The Sacred Ape Spiced Rum, Wawoo Mochi Donuts and Wisteria Florist.
Festive food and drink will be on offer with traditional roasted chestnuts, roast cobs, cheese melts from Big Melt Cheese, sweet treats from The Pudding Pantry and Cheeky Pancakes, with MemSaab, Bah Bah Mezze and Power to the Poutine providing alternative festive fayre. Castle Rock Brewery and The Thirsty Farmer will be on hand to provide the Christmas cheer with mulled wine, crisps ciders and other refreshments.
Beyond shopping, guests will be treated to live entertainment, interactive performances, crafts, free face painting, and a delightful carousel.
Cllr Sam Lux, Executive Member for Carbon Reduction, Leisure and Culture at Nottingham City Council, said: “We’re so pleased that It’s in Nottingham are bringing their Christmas market back to the Castle this winter, giving local independent traders a fantastic opportunity to showcase their unique treats and gifts. With live entertainment, carols, and festive activities in the Castle grounds, it will be a great family-friendly day out for residents and visitors alike.”
