This Easter, Belvoir Castle is providing plenty of family fun with a host of eggcellent activities taking place across the Leicestershire estate right up to 18 April.
The seasonal celebrations, spread throughout the castle, gardens and Engine Yard, are set to include an Easter Activity Trail, children’s crafts and an artisan pop-up market.
In the formal gardens, little ones can take part in an eggciting Easter Activity Trail. After collecting an activity box, children must follow a series of clues and questions hidden amongst the flowers to win a tasty chocolate egg prize. There will also be a chance to meet the Easter Bunny and friends, who will be hopping along to join in with the fun.
Inside the castle, the Old Kitchens will be open for a host of Easter crafts. Families can get hands-on and create fantastic bonnets, baskets and Easter greetings cards to take away ready for the big day. The castle will also be open for free flow tours for a chance for visitors to discover Belvoir’s magnificent collection of historical staterooms at their leisure. After taking part in plenty of seasonal fun, visitors can indulge in a delicious Easter Afternoon Tea in the castle’s tea room, The Aviary.
A stone’s throw away from the castle, The Engine Yard will be throwing its own Easter celebrations. From 17-18 April, a unique selection of pop-up stalls will be offering a range of unique gifts, homewares, flowers and delicious treats for visitors to browse. As well as an Easter Market, the Engine Yard will also be offering its own free Easter Activity trail. Starting at The Fuel Tank, visitors can follow clues through the shops to discover a secret prize.
To complete the perfect day out, visitors can take in Belvoir’s parkland and gardens in full bloom. The estate features a stunning array of plant life including daffodils, tulips, hyacinths, primrose and camellias over 16,000 acres of stunning countryside.
Emma Stenning CEO at Belvoir Castle says: “We are delighted to be able to host such an exciting programme of Easter events here at Belvoir. Whether it’s family fun, a delicious celebratory Afternoon Tea or shopping at the pop-up market in The Engine Yard – there is plenty to do for everyone over the holidays. Now is also the perfect time to take advantage of the warmer spring weather and explore one of our many walks across the parkland”.
The Easter Activity trail is included with castle and garden tickets and the Easter Crafts are included free with entry to the castle.
