More acts added to Splendour bill

DHP Family, the award winning Nottingham promoters, have announced the next wave of acts for this years Splendour Festival, including a number of Nottingham acts set to play the Acoustic Rooms stage.

Among the bands announced for the festival, which takes place at Wollaton Park on Saturday 19 July, are multi-million selling indie-rockers SCOUTING FOR GIRLS who will join headliners TOM O’DELL and HAPPY MONDAYS on the main stage. Scouting for Girls are, perhaps, best known for their 2007 track She’s So Lovely while their Greatest Hits album, released last year, reached number 8 in the UK charts.

A yet to be announced Very Special Guest will also be performing on the main stage while, as ever, the stage will be opened by the winners of the Future Sound of Nottingham competition.

Also added to the main stage line up is British singer-songwriter Laura Rose Allen, aka ‘FOXES’ who will be showcasing material from her debut album, ‘Glorius’ which is due out in May and US singer-songwriter RON POPE.

Meanwhile on the Confetti stage rockers THE RIFLES have been added to the line up along with Belfast born, Nottingham based A PLASTIC ROSE who’s star continues to rise, also added to the stage are UNCLE FRANK and KETO.

Meanwhile the first set of acts for the courtyard stage, which is this year named the Acoustic Rooms stage, have been announced including a fantastic selection of Nottingham performers. BUD, BITTER STRINGS, GALLERY 47, FIELDS, RYAN THOMAS, FRANKIE RUDOLF and GEORGE HOLROYD will all be flying the Notts flag on the day joining NOAH and BILLY LOCKETT on the courtyard stage.

Meanwhile the line up for the Comedy Stage is also taking shape with sets from NICK PAGE, GERRY K, STEVE ROYLE, PATRICK MONAHAN and RAYMOND AND MR TIMKINS REVUE all announced, with BRENDEN RILEY on compere duties.

With more acts still be announced and the intrigue of the main stage special guests – not to mention the FSN winners – Splendour is already shaping up nicely, and as ever it’s great to see some top Nottingham acts on the line up – with hopefully more to come.
