UK TOUR DATES FOR OCTOBER & NOVEMBER
London newcomers CALVA LOUISE announce the arrival of their eagerly anticipated debut album Rhinoceros, due for release 1st February via Modern Sky Records.
Having already spawned lead singles Outrageous and I Heard A Cry, the trio continue to receive widespread acclaim throughout the online community (The Line Of Best Fit, Clash, Dork) and across the airwaves (BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Radio X) with these early glimpses of their glistening potential.
Flourishing within London’s thriving punk scene since their formative days, the band’s (one part Venezuelan, one part Ma ori and another part English) tenacious live reputation has already earned them tour supports alongside Spring King and Anteros, in addition to Albert Hammond Jr and an upcoming UK tour with The Blinders.
Discussing their upcoming full-length release, the three-piece stated: “Our debut album is called Rhinoceros, in reference to a particular aspect of the work of Eugene Ionesco. In the lyrics of these ten songs we show our perception as young people, partly foreigners, who try to fit in and belong to something and somewhere in this globalized world. However, we have realised that our greatest motivation is the challenge of adventure, of penetrating into the unknown, and being authentic allows us to feel free to follow our own path, without ceasing to belong to this world, which is the reality”.
Produced by Margo Broom (Fat White Family, Goat Girl) and mixed by Tom Longworth (Catholic Action, The Vryll Society), Calva Louise’s Rhinoceros is out 1st February via Modern Sky Records and will be available on all digital platforms (pre-order here).
