HOBO JOHNSON & THE LOVEMAKERS
JANUARY 2019 UK TOUR
Following their huge sold out UK tour earlier this year California-based alternative hip-hop artists Hobo Johnson & The Lovemakers have announced their highly anticipated return to the UK for January 2019. The group will visit Bristol O2 Academy on 22nd January, then stop off at London, Nottingham and commence at Manchester Academy on 26th January.
Hobo Johnson- real name Frank Lopes Jr- is an alternative hip-hop artist from Sacramento and is backed by his bandmates ‘The Lovemakers’. His kind-hearted and softer approach to hip-hop, with a quirky edge, is what has attracted attention to the rapper.
In November 2017, Hobo Johnson released the record ‘The Rise of Hobo Johnson’. Five of his songs from the album have made Viral 50 charts on Spotify around the world, with recent single, ‘Peach Scone’, debuting on Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist. The single comes on the heels of Hobo Johnson’s ‘Peach Scone’ live performance video, which was posted online as a submission for NPR’s Tiny Desk contest. The live video of that unreleased track got Hobo Johnson much more than expected. In just 7 weeks, the ‘Peach Scone’ video racked up over 14.6 million views on Facebook and YouTube.
