Fast-rising Manchester guitar-pop collective LARKINS have released their brand new single ‘TV Dream’.
The new song features bright synths, 80s-inspired guitars and a huge chorus showcasing their knack for intelligent songwriting and delicious pop hooks reminiscent of the likes of CHVRCHES, The 1975 and Pale Waves.
Regarding the single, frontman Josh Noble says, “‘TV Dream’ was inspired by my grandparents; the idea that romance and dancing has lost its appeal and vigour from what it used to be. Instead, when we turn on the TV we see these visions of gender inequality, and sexism based on the way people dress. I loved combining such a blissful story of romance with a more serious tone of being influenced by the modern media.”
Since the release of their debut EP Don’t Leave The Light On in 2016, and a string of singles following this, Larkins have developed a fervent fanbase which have seen them sell out shows across the UK and Europe.
On the back of a twelve-date tour last year, the band are hitting the road again next month and will play four headline dates across the UK, finishing with a huge defining hometown show at the 2000-capacity Albert Hall in Manchester on March 2nd.
Larkins are on a meteoric rise as one of the most exciting and in-demand new bands to emerge from Manchester in recent times. Currently working on their debut album, the four-piece release ‘TV Dream’ as a taste of the exciting things to expect from the collective throughout 2019.
