A Nottingham teenager astounded the audience at a charity concert with her sensational vocals, where she performed with X Factor winner Sam Bailey and the iconic Band of the Coldstream Guards.

Seventeen year old Faith Tucker, who lives in Clifton Grove, Nottingham, and studies at Ockbrook School in Derbyshire, was invited to perform in front of an audience of more than several hundred people at the fundraiser for the Army Benevolent Fund (ABF) Soldiers’ Charity.

Her operatic voice astounded the audience during the performance of ‘Nella Fantasia’ – the theme tune from the film The Mission. This was followed by the rousing ‘Rule Britannia’, where she invited the auditorium to join in with the chorus.

Faith said: “It was an honour to be one of the guests performing with the famous Band of the Coldstream Guards, which has now been in existence for over 200 years!

“Singing has been a huge part of my life since I was a young girl and I’m thankful to have an amazing support network of friends and family. Ockbrook School has also provided the strong foundations I needed to succeed, with Mr Swindell always encouraging me to pursue my musical career.”

Mr Swindell is head of music at Ockbrook School. He said: “It’s a delight to watch Faith flourish in her musical career. She’s an extremely hard worker and talented musician and recently composed a vocal ensemble and organ piece of music called ‘Gloria’. The piece has been chosen as one of the songs for the school choir to sing at Derby Cathedral next month, as well as an Evensong at St George’s Chapel, Windsor in April next year.”

As well as a member of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, the rising star is represented by Champions UK plc. Faith’s growing success makes her extremely popular and increasingly sought after, especially for prestigious events and functions. Recently she performed at Masterchef TV personality, Greg Wallace’s wedding at Hever Castle for ‘Hello magazine’.

Formed in 1785, the Band of the Coldstream Guards is one of the oldest and best known bands in the British Army. The concert will help raise funds for ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, the only military charity where funds are distributed directly into the hands of serving and former soldiers and families who find themselves in desperate need.
