To commemorate the Theatre Royal Nottingham’s 150th anniversary pantomime this year’s fabulously outrageous dame, Christopher Biggins, has been awarded a seat dedication in the auditorium alongside previous pantomime legend David Hasselhoff and Nottingham’s own Su Pollard.
To mark the end of Aladdin’s six week run at the Theatre Royal Nottingham on Sunday January 10th, and the end of the Theatre Royal’s 150th anniversary year, Christopher Biggins has been awarded a special ‘Name A Seat’ plaque in his honour. The plaque will remain on seat J18 in the stalls for the next 25 years.
The brass plaque which will be affixed to the back of the seat carries the following inscription:
Biggins
My most favourite Theatre
in the whole country
Aladdin 2006 & 2015
“I am so thrilled because this is one of the most beautiful theatres in the country and I’m really honoured. I’ve had two hugely successful seasons here, especially this one that we are in at the moment which has been quite fantastic so to be honoured with this is just best. Simply the best.” said Biggins.
Jonathan Saville, Director – Sales, Marketing and Development for the Theatre Royal, added, “Biggins has been a valued friend and supporter of the Theatre Royal for many years so he was the perfect choice to headline this year’s 150th anniversary pantomime. He has been such an excellent ambassador for our anniversary throughout the year that we wanted to surprise him with a very special and lasting ‘thank you’. This has been an unforgettable year for the Theatre Royal and this spectacular pantomime production, with Biggins at the helm, couldn’t have been a better way for us to draw our anniversary celebrations to a close.”
