SHOPPERS will now be able to save both time and money as a new app providing in-centre navigation with maps and directions, store directory and amazing offers at the touch of a button, launches at intu Victoria Centre on Sunday (31 January).
intu, the leading owner of many of the UK’s favourite shopping centres, is bringing the digital and physical shopping experience even closer together.
The App allows customers to navigate around their favourite centres quickly and easily, highlighting offers from retailers as you walk past. This navigating tool, which looks and feels very similar to the maps that so many of us already use outside on smartphones, and guides us to our chosen destination using a blue dot, is one of the first of its kind inside shopping centres in the UK.
Along with both centre’s free high bandwidth wifi networks the app will provide shoppers with a superior customer experience.
Nicola McCabe, marketing manager at intu Victoria Centre and intu Broadmarsh, said: “Our new app is a fantastic tool for our customers, it will host discounts for our shops and restaurants and will include an interactive map – helping both regular and new customers to navigate their way through the centre, using the latest blue dot technology.
“This is the first app of its kind to be launched inside the UK’s shopping centres and we are really excited to show customers exactly what it has to offer. The app will allow users to interact and engage with their favourite brands at their convenience in-store, online or on the go.”
The App which was initially trialled and tested across a number of Student Night events in September 2015, is yet another development from intu’s in-house digital innovation team who have already overseen the development of a highly successful nationwide virtual shopping centre, intu.co.uk.

This App will allow our customers to do just that, with bespoke information only one click away, wherever you are.”
