Visit Nottinghamshire Launches STARS Awards to find
Outstanding Tourism Experiences
The search is on to find outstanding tourism experiences in the county,
with entries now open for the Nottinghamshire Hospitality STARS
Awards.
Organised by Visit Nottinghamshire, in partnership with the Nottingham
Hospitality Association, the STARS Awards are a celebration of the very
best in the county’s leisure, culture, tourism and hospitality sectors.
With a total of 14 categories, from ‘Bed & Breakfast of the Year’ and ‘Visitor
Attraction of the Year’, to ‘Rising Star – Unsung Hero’, the awards are an
opportunity to highlight outstanding service and give thanks to the people
and organisations which make such valuable contributions to tourism and
the economy by drawing an ever-growing number of visitors to
Nottinghamshire.

Winners of the first 12 categories in the STARS Awards are eligible to enter
the ‘2019 VisitEngland Awards’, a national tourism awards programme
which is firmly established as representing the highest accolade in English
Tourism.
Brendan Moffett, Chief Executive of Visit Nottinghamshire, said: “Following
a three-year hiatus, we are delighted to bring back the STARS Awards and
recognise the outstanding tourism experiences across the city and county.
“Nottinghamshire is a fantastic destination, attracting millions of visitors
each year. These awards celebrate tourism, culture, leisure and hospitality
businesses and the people behind them who work so hard and
professionally to deliver an exceptional experience.”
Nottingham Business Improvement District (BID) is proud sponsors of the
Sustainable Tourism Award. Chairman of Nottingham BID, Jeff Allen said: “It
is great to see the local STARS Award back, giving local tourism businesses
recognition and enabling local winners to enter Visit England’s national

important to Nottingham as it brings more people to the area which
benefits local businesses including our members – leisure and retail
