Nottingham Comedy Festival returns in November

The Nottingham Comedy Festival has firmly established itself as a key part of the Nottingham festival year and will once again return this November, promising to be bigger and better than ever with over 110 shows taking place across the course of the festival – which runs from 6 – 14 November.

As ever the festival will be mixing local, national and international acts to ensure there is something for all comedy tastes.

Among the local acts you’ll be able to catch at this year’s festival are Matt Forde (recently seen on Mock the Week), Jon Peason, Scott Bennett and the AlternativeFilmNetwork.

Meanwhile national names featuring in this years festival include Gary Delaney, Rob Beckett, Kerry Godliman and comedy legends Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse.

What’s more this year the festival are introducing a comedy bus. The bus, which will be parked up outside Castle Rock Brewery and will feature a host of family friendly activities, it will also be pulling up in Bolero Square (at the Arena) on the festivals opening day.

As ever one of the key events at the festival is the New Act Competition (sponsored by Castle Rock) Taking place on Tuesday 10 November at The Canalhouse the New Act Competition is open to any new comedy acts that have performed at The Canalhouse over the past twelve months. All acts will be competiting to win the New Act Award, speaking of which, the first ever winner of the award, Carl Jones, will be debuting his new show at The Canalhouse on Saturday 14.

This year the festival will be supporting The National Autistic Society, a charity which helps those with Austism and Aspergers Syndrome.
