Nottingham City Council has turned once again to leading ticketing agency Gigantic to provide an innovative total ticketing solution for its biggest campaign this autumn.
Taking place from September 30 to November 5, October in Nottingham sees multiple festivals taking place across the city, such as the ‘Magnificent Spiegeltent’, ‘Goose Fair’, ‘Robin Hood Pageant’ and ‘Hockley Hustle’. Last year’s event attracted more than 500,000 visitors, 35 per cent of whom were from other towns and cities, and this year’s event is expected to be bigger still.
Gigantic will manage all aspects of customer service, formulate a ticketing structure for more than 40 individual ticketed events and create the official event website – www.octoberinnottingham.co.uk. The company will use a bespoke scanning system, which has successfully been used all summer at the blockbuster ‘Dinosaurs of China’ exhibition, to control access to multiple performances in the ‘Magnificent Spiegeltent’, enabling the organisers to concentrate solely on event delivery.
Gigantic founder, Mark Gasson said: “Over the last 18 months we have significantly developed our relationship with the local authority and are now the exclusive online ticket agent for multiple Nottingham City Council events. As part of our blossoming relationship they turned to us to develop a fit for purpose, mobile responsive website – all of which was built in-house by our tech team and delivered on time.”
Gigantic provides services for Nottingham City Council events such as the East Midlands Flower Show, the outdoor theatre season at Nottingham Castle, Wollaton Park and Newstead Abbey, as well as the ‘Dinosaurs of China’ exhibition featuring real-life dino discoveries never seen before in Europe.
Head of Events at Nottingham City Council, Patrick Loy said: “As an existing ticketing provider to Nottingham City Council, we worked with Gigantic from the outset to create an October campaign website which incorporated a white label ticketing solution across the six week season of events.
“Mark and the team were incredibly responsive to multiple changes as the event content developed, whilst having access to existing Gigantic targeted communications and multiple platforms has given us additional exposure for our shows, which is already translating into sales.”
Winner of ‘Retail Business of the Year’ at the 2017 Nottingham Post Business Awards, Gigantic is an established player within the ticketing circuit and is also the lead ticketing agent for Tramlines Festival, Sheffield; provides box office systems for DHP Family venues including Rock City and Rescue Rooms, as well as taking sole responsibility for citycard registrations at Splendour Festival.
