Made in Nottingham at intu Broadmarsh has been awarded the title of
Short Term Retailer of the Year at the SCEPTRE Awards, a national award
ceremony recognising best practice in the shopping centre industry.
The accolade comes following the store’s original set-up as part of the
centre’s ‘Pop Up intu Broadmarsh’ campaign in December 2014 and the
subsequent opening of additional stores the following year.
Adam Tamsett, general manager at intu Broadmarsh, said: “We are
delighted that Made in Nottingham has been recognised at the SCEPTRE
Awards. It is a fantastic collaboration of local designers which has
grown considerably since first arriving at intu Broadmarsh in 2014 – we
are very proud to have been involved in its journey.
“Our upper mall has now become recognised as the location for local
independent stores, and Made in Nottingham plays a significant part in
building that great reputation – which is why we nominated them for the
award. Made in Nottingham receiving the title of Short Term Retailer of
the Year leads the way for other independent stores and designers; it
also highlights that there is a need for innovative retail in the
market.”
Mary Corcoran, creative director at Made in Nottingham said: “Ben and I
are very proud that our amazing progress has been recognised by this
national award. We are eternally grateful to intu Broadmarsh for their
support and advice, even more so in the run up to opening our third
store, ‘The Food Emporium’, in early July.
The SCEPTRE Awards recognise the best practice and the best people in
the shopping centre industry, which put management teams, retailers and
suppliers that demonstrate industry excellence in the spotlight.
Chelsea White a sales assistant and apprentice at Made in Nottingham,
said: “All our hard work as a team has paid off. I’m so happy and so
proud to work for Made in Nottingham.”
Made in Nottingham received the award during a ceremony at The
Dorchester in London on 21 June.
