Darren is taking a much deserved holiday this week, and will be living it up on the exotic location they call Great Yarmouth. Not Alright Yarmouth, or even Rather Good Yarmouth, Trent Sound presenters deserve nothing less than greatness when it comes to holidays.
Rather than take the risk of allowing opinionated broadcaster Steve Oliver to do the show alone, it is time for our half-year appraisal in the hands of original presenters (and Notts Live founders) Bainy and Andy Haynes. Bainy will be in the co-pilot chair, and Andy will be telling us about his long awaited radio comeback. Imagine Bob Monkhouse and Max Bygraves watching judgmentally as Les Dennis attempts to host Family Fortunes in their company, it’ll be nothing like that so stop thinking it.
In the hour we have come to refer to as ‘the better of the three’, that’s the middle hour in which we host high quality live sessions (who we famously treat better than John Peel treated his guests – not our words, but those of a recent session band), we welcome 2012 Future Sound Of Nottingham winners The After Dark Movement.
Find out more on the band at their website http://www.theafterdarkmovement.co.uk/
There will of course be all the usual stuff; Looking Ahead to the best gigs of the week, Cover version Of The Week, and three hours of the best sounds from the UK capital of music, played by presenters who actually go out and attend gigs unlike some!
Join us for NottinghamLIVE this and every Wednesday 7pm-10pm on Trent Sound
