After a year’s hiatus, like pretty much every other event, Oxjam Beeston is returning and aiming to raise even more money for charity by putting on some of the best local musicians at some of the best venues across the town.
Taking place this Saturday the festival will feature almost 100 artists across 15 venues including the Star Inn, The Berliner, Circle Eatery, Beeston Methodist Church, Middle Street Resource Centre and more.
The day will kick off in Beeston Square with the Rock Choir, while you will also find the Oxjam stall here, until 4pm, where you can buy and exchange tickets for wristbands – these will be required to access venues after 6pm. Don’t worry if you can’t get along to get your wristband before 4, as there will be kiosks outside the Star, Bendigo, Hope Poll and the Commercial Inn from 4-10pm.
Beeston will be bouncing throughout the day with venues kicking off around 2pm and running through until around 10.30-11.00 pm at many venues – there’s even a silent disco from until midnight at the Victory Club.
Along with the likes of Midnight Special, George Gadd, Lilac Grove, UP, Benjamin Hibbert, Scriptures, Blue Vulture, The Phil Langran Band, Naomi Lee, The Woodlice, Paul Carbuncle, Abi Moore, Lowri-ffion, Last Arrow and many, many more there will also be a number of Oxjam special guests appearing at venues across the day, with hints that maybe Beeston’s very own Kingdom Rapper might be one such guest.
After what has been, and in many ways still is, a tough, challenging time for us all it’s great to see Oxjam return to takeover Beeston, over the years the event has brought crowds to the town showcasing some of the great entertainment places the town has to offer and has raised thousand’s for great causes.
