This weekend will see a plethora of ace metal bands descend upon Nottingham’s Rescue Rooms and Tap ‘n’ Tumbler for the return of the Mangata Festival, which comes from Mangata Music, a collective of event professionals and music enthusiasts – including many of the folks behind the much missed Macmillan Festival.
Headlining proceedings will be metal stalwarts HEART OF A COWARD, these guys, who are set to release their fifth album this year, will be bringing their metalcore anthems to the Rescue Rooms to bring the curtain down on this years festival – need any more reason to check them out then have a listen to their latest track ‘Decay’ below
Also appearing in the Rescue Rooms will be special guests, and metal legends, RAGING SPEEDHORN who will be bringing their high energy show to the festival. Expect big riffs and heavy sounds from these folks.
Also smashing it on the Rescue Rooms stage will be RED METHOD, TUSKAR, DRACONIAN REIGN, HELLFEKETED, OUTERGODS and LOST TO LIGHT.
Meanwhile, the Rescue Room headliners are the self-described “miserable band from a miserable town’ MASTIFF, expect doom, sludge hardcore from this band in the intimate confines of the Red Rooms.
If you’re looking for high-minded concepts and techniques mixed with savagery and raw heaviness, all backed by big riffs then make sure you check out the ace HARBINGER in the Red Rooms, you can also expect mind-bending tech death metal from Glasgow’s GODEATER.
Also on the Red Rooms stage you will be able to catch A-TOTA-SO opening things up, as well as AZAZEL, THRASHERWOLF and SUGAR WOLF.
From 4pm the Tap ‘n’ Tumbler will be getting in on the act with a great selection of acts which will be headlined by post-metal outfit HUNDRED YEAR OLD MAN, plus you can expect rock infused metal, funk, jazz, reggae, hip hop, folk and more from the ace CONFYDE and hard rockers COTTONMOUTH, along with HEREWIND, HEAD CLOUD, DAMN CRATERS, MASTER CHARGER and RECKONER.
As you can see there is plenty to check out across the day with a stellar line up of metal acts, plus traders and more. Last year’s inaugural Mangata was a fantastic show and this years is sure to be just as heavy, sweaty and fun.
