It’s one of the most loved and enjoyable shows of all time and this October it returns to Nottingham as a part of its 40th anniversary tour.
The Rocky Horror Show was originally launched at the Royal Court Theatre in June 1973, initially created by Richard O’Brien (yes, he of Crystal Maze fame) the show has gone on to become the world’s most famous RockNRoll production – spawning the hugely successful movie adaptation The Rocky Horror Picture Show in 1975, starring Susan Sarandon, Brian Bostwick, Tim Curry and Meat Loaf.
In this latest version, from Christopher Luscombe, former Tracy Beaker star, and Strictly Come Dancing 2012 finalist DANI HARMER will take on the lead role of Janet while Ben Forster, who won the ITV1 show Superstar and went on to play the lead role in Jesus Christ Superstar will take on the role of Janet’s fiancee Brad.
Acclaimed stage performer OLIVER THORNTON, who’s credits include Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables and Chicago, takes on the role of Dr Frank ‘n’ Furter while PHILIP FRANKS, who played Charley in Darling Buds of May, will take on the role of the narrator.
You can expect a brilliant retelling of Janet and Brad’s meeting with the unusual Dr Frank ‘n’ Furter and of course all the classic songs from ‘Science Fiction/Double Feature’ to ‘Dammit Janet’ not forgetting the timeless floor-filler ‘Time Warp’.
Ready to thrill you with fun and naughty moments, O’Brien’s Rocky Horror Show is the boldest bash of them all. Be warned, this show has rude parts!
Rocky Horror Show runs at the Theatre Royal from 23-28 September, for more information, and tickets visit the Theatre Royal website
