In a time where modern music is fronted by bands who are “too cool to
perform”, Frank Carter showed why he is up there with one of the great
British entertainers currently on the scene. From start to finish the
concert was filled with raw emotion, energy and passion for the live
music scene.
Rescue Rooms, hosted a sold out show on Sunday night where Frank Carter
and The Rattlesnakes headlined a night to remember, Thee MVPs and Dead!
Opened up the evening both with incredible sets, suitable warming the
crowd up for what can only be described as an explosion of power.
Former Gallows singer Frank Carter exploded onto the stage after The
Rattlesnakes finished their intro, and from this point there was no
looking back. I don’t think that for the first 3 songs any member of the
band was still for more than a split second, the same goes for the
crowd.
Just listening to the bands music, you know they will deliver a powerful
and loud set. But what wasn’t expected was the personality and
appreciation that came with the concert. It doesn’t take much to see
Franks love for his daughter via his Instagram page, but his loving and
appreciative nature doesn’t stop there.
There were several occasions throughout the night where he stopped, no
music or background noise, he simply talked to the crowd interacting and
sharing jokes with members of the crowed. The mutual respect was
amazing, so much so he didn’t even have to use his microphone to be
heard.
At one stage he even saw a gentleman struggling to get to the ground for
a personal song of his, but Frank stopped, and made sure the gentleman
knew he didn’t have to put his body through the pain and was welcome to
stay stood. Another incident occurred where a stag dive from a female
member of the crowd nearly went wrong, Frank once again stopped the show
and made sure she was safe.
The show was full of energy, the lighting was incredible with strobes
really adding to the dynamic, but the fact that Frank made everyone feel
appreciated and part of the journey was what made it so special.
He mentioned at one stage that there’s not many British artists who
deliver a show like he does, and to be honest, I have to agree. His
almost sold out tour speaks for itself. We look forward to seeing him
again in 2017.
