So, Jon Richardson Nidiot tour, some fancy comedian from London. Originally born in Lancaster and about 4 foot tall, Jon is the everyday David fighting the Goliath that is life, and losing. But as he points out, we are all losing, why else would we pay good money for a comedy gig. Happy people don’t need to pay someone else to make them laugh. Well Jon, I went for free, so who’s laughing now? Over the course of a two hour whirlwind he very much proved that it is everyone anywhere near Jon Richardson!
Since winning the BBCs new talent search in 2003, Jon has gone from strength to strength, starring in the television show ‘8 out of 10 cats’ as well as appearing on shows such as ‘Have I got news for you’, ‘Live at the Apollo’ and ‘Never mind the buzzcocks’.
A famous singleton, Jon enjoys life in the misery lane, avoiding fun and adventure he picks holes and questions the banality of his everyday life. From stories of his walking holidays in the Peak District to foreign holidays to unfounded insinuations of his (married) friends, Jon brings you into his head and allows you to look at the world through his eyes in order to make us feel better about our own. I say this sincerely Jon, best show I have seen all week!
A couple of small grumps from the night, both involving my fellow patrons. First, if you’re reading this girl who insists on repeatedly screaming throughout the show, yes, you are not only annoying but very very annoying. Secondly, old man who was sat next to me, please do not go to comedy gigs and shake your head after every swear word or masturbation story, its unnecessary and wrong.
Nidiot will be available on DVD from the 1st of December, a great Christmas gift or just a great night it, either way it is worth every penny. Order now from Amazon or, if you can find one, Blockbusters. Jon will be continuing the tour around the country for the next month. The next closest show to Nottingham will be on the 7th December in Sheffield. For more info and ticket purchases please follow this link: http://www.jonrichardsoncomedy.com/dates/
