Whether by accident or design, there are now a number of excellent science talks taking place in Nottingham pubs. They are all aimed at the layman rather than the expert and they are a great way to learn new things.
Skeptics in the Pub
The daddy of these nights in Nottingham even though the talks aren’t necessarily always scientific. A speaker talks for 30-40 minutes and then there is a Q and A session after a drinks break.

Run by the Nottinghamshire branch of the British Science Association and CAMRA. SciBar has a 30 minute talk followed by questions.

Café Scientifique
Café Sci features both local and out-of-town speakers talking about a wide range of subjects. Presentations are around 20 minutes long with Q and As afterwards.
