ULTIMATE STRONGMAN
CAR ROLL WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT
The Strongmen are coming! On Saturday 5 October 2019, Wales’ Strongest Men, Mark Jeanes and Gavin Bilton, will take part in a free exhibition of tremendous strength at the Motorpoint Arena Nottingham which will see them set a new 2-man team ‘Car Roll’ world record.
The classic strongman test entails the strongmen taking it in turns to pick the car up and flip it over as many times as possible – a feat no regular man could come close to achieving! The current individual world record was set by Canada’s Jean Caron in 2015, who managed 13 flips in 5 minutes on his own.
The attempt will take place at 1pm on Saturday 5 October on Bolero Square at the front of the arena. Spectators are invited to watch the super-human task and get up close to the Ultimate Strongman stars.
At 6ft 6in and 160kg each, the duo will be competing at the Team World Strongman Championship at the arena on Sunday 3 November 2019 which will be filmed for Channel 5 and broadcast in December.
The family event features 2-man teams from around the world including current World’s Strongest Man, Martins Licis of Latvia, the UK’s Strongest Man, Paul Benton and the reigning World Champions, the Lalas brothers – Vytautas and Marius, who hail from Lithuania.
At the World Championships in November the teams will be put through a series of superhuman strength tests, including holding up two cars for as long as possible, carrying a 450kg tyre Super Yoke on their shoulders and doing a 700kg/1,540lb deadlift!
An incredible test of strength and fantastic entertainment – don’t miss the opportunity to watch this world record attempt live as it happens!
