Theatre: First ever MAMMA MIA! UK tour visiting Royal Concert Hall Nottingham in June will star Nottingham actress as Donna Sheridan

Full casting has been announced for the sensational feel-good musical MAMMA MIA! which comes to the Royal Concert Hall Nottingham from Tuesday 14 to Saturday 25 June as part of its first ever UK tour 2016. Sara Poyzer (Donna Sheridan), Jenna Lee James (Alternate Donna), Jacqueline Braun (Rosie), Emma Clifford (Tanya), Richard Standing (Sam Carmichael), Tim Walton (Harry Bright), Christopher Hollis (Bill Austin), Lucy May Barker (Sophie Sheridan), Phillip Ryan (Sky), Micha Richardson (Ali), Blaise Colangelo (Lisa), Louis Stockil (Pepper) and Sam Robinson (Eddie) will star in the production which opens at the Bristol Hippodrome on Friday 25 March.

Completing the cast are Matthew Ronchetti, Jacob Fisher, Jennifer Harding, Stuart Hickey, Linda Holmgren, Rachel Ivy, Matt Kennedy, Georgie Leatherland, Mark Peachey, David Ribi, Ellie Rutherford, Parisa Shahmir, Michael James Stewart, Hannah Varnham, Rhodri Watkins, Jamie Wilkin and Dawn Williams.

 

MAMMA MIA! is Judy Craymer’s ingenious vision of staging the story-telling magic of ABBA’s timeless songs with an enchanting tale of family and friendship unfolding on a Greek island paradise. To date, it has been seen by more than 60 million people in 49 productions in 16 different languages. MAMMA MIA! The Movie is the highest worldwide grossing live-action musical film of all time.

From West End to global phenomenon, the London production of MAMMA MIA! has now been seen by more than 10% of the entire UK population. It is one of only five musicals to have run for more than 10 years both on Broadway and in the West End, and in 2011, it became the first Western musical ever to be staged in Mandarin in the People’s Republic of China. The London production of MAMMA MIA! is currently booking until 22 October 2016.

Jenna Lee James plays Alternate Donna. Theatre includes: Mary in Rod Stewart’s, Tonight’s the Night (UK Tour); Original cast of We Will Rock You, in which she played two leading roles, Meatloaf and Scaramouche (Dominion Theatre, West End). She became the only person in the world to have played all three female leading roles in We Will Rock You when she toured as Killer Queen in the (10th Anniversary World Arena tour). Other roles include The Narrator in Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, (Adelphi Theatre, London); Lorraine in Boogie Nights  (UK Tour); Principal Singer in Money, Money, Money, the Real Abba Story (UK Tour); Maisie in The Boyfriend (Glasgow); Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz (Glasgow); the title role in Peter Pan (Grand theatre, Swansea); Carabosse inSleeping Beauty (Theatre Royal, Nottingham); Tiger Lily in Peter Pan (Theatre Royal, Newcastle). She created the roles of Becky McDonald in Street of Dreams – The Coronation Street Years (MEN Arena Manchester) and June Child in Twentieth Century Boy (UK Premiere). Television includes: The Max Proms; Holland; Ruth Jones’ Summer Holiday; Parkinson; Party at the Palace; Party in the Park; Children in Need; Blue Peter; Al Murray’s Happy Hour. Radio includes: Soloist on BBC Radio 2’s Friday Night Is Music Night. Other work includes: Jenna has worked extensively as a solo artist in the UK and internationally. She has performed globally in countless concert productions and arena tours, most recently a European tour of Champions Of Rock. Jenna has performed as backing vocalist for various artists including Ella Eyre, Laura Wright, Collabro and Take That at the 02 Arena, London.
