This play came with a warning, Strong language and haze. Haze? I asked the theatre goer on my left, what she understood by the word haze, She replied ‘misty smoke stuff probably’ I asked the theatre goer on my left at the interval and their reply mystified me (excuse the pun). He said well hazing is when you deliberately try to trigger someone or you ridicule to the point they are completely humiliated. So what is the correct answer?

If you do manage to see the play this week at the Theatre Royal Nottingham, perhaps you would leave a comment below regards the warning word of Haze for this play , Stones in His Pockets.

Stones in His Pockets is an award winning two handed play set in a small rural town in Ireland. A blockbusting historical film is in the making and they have hired in many of the townsfolk as extras, this is where the cultures of Hollywood and the ‘simple lives’ of the Kerry people come into sharp contrast and conflict.

The two actors last night were Kevin Trainor and Owen Sharpe both had a good night , and I particularly like the performance of Kevin’s when he was playing Ashleigh, I wasn’t alone the audience seemed to enjoy this ambiguous character too. The play has 15 characters played by just the two and that’s where our admiration is directed for this play, they both have to act out of their skins for this play to be a success, luckily for us last night it was.

Stone in His Pocket runs until Saturday 27th July , tickets from £16.50 click here to book
